Vivid Visual Art Camp
Vivid Visual Art
July 17th – 21st
Grades: entering 2nd-8th
Back by popular demand! Art camp provides children a wonderful introduction to several forms of visual art. From painting to collages to print and everything in between, this visual arts week will give kids an opportunity to explore a new area of art each day. Projects will vary from induvial pieces to large scale group work that will be installed and displayed at RiverPark Center.
Rex Halterman lives in Western Colorado, and has been a working artist for over thirty years. He uses clay, wood, metal, digital design and graphic art to express his creativity, and holds a B.F.A. degree in Studio Arts. His artwork is found in public and private collections throughout the world, and he has been teaching groups and individuals, privately, and in public schools, for many years.
One of the projects that the 2016 Art Camp created was a large Dinosaur Mural, which can be seen hanging at The RiverPark Center. The campers also experimented with different styles of Art, from Pointellism and Impressionism to Abstraction. This year, we will create another large mural, experiment with some 3-dimensional projects, and continue exploring different styles of Art in the other projects that are planned; come prepared to have fun, and get messy!
