Paramount Arts Center presents SOMETHING IN THE WATER, a multi-media musical event that moves through the early years of country music, highlighting "old time" and "bluegrass" styles of music, which started in Kentucky. Whether sitting on the front porch, playing traditional ballads of their native countries or spreading their sound over the biggest radio stations in the country, Kentuckians shaped and defined this genre of music through the first half of the twentieth century. This show spotlights a number of influential musicians and writers and features some popular songs of that era. In the style of "Down From the Mountain" and "O Brother Where Art Thou," this production brings to life the rich legacy that added a new depth to country music. Public Performance: September 25 at 7:00 p.m.
