ACT OUT IN SCHOOL!
In school residency program for grades 4-5
Bring RiverPark Center into your school with this week-long residency program. Up to 40 4th and 5th graders can participate as either actors or as members of the design team to create the set, costumes, etc. Each day, both groups will meet to work on the show, culminating with a performance for the rest of the school on Friday. Multiple show titles are available.
Contact Eli Halterman, Education Director, at 270-687-2770 or firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions, and for information on fees and scheduling.
Maybe you remember your first experience to the arts and what it meant to you? Share that joy with a child; please join with the many others who will make a difference in a child’s life. RiverPark Center Arts Education programs surpass anything done in cities 5 times our size. Every year at RiverPark Center, 25,000+ students from at least 115 different schools in 25 counties from the tri-state attend diverse professional touring company presentations designed for every grade level from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 at RiverPark Center. This innovative, model performance series helps schools achieve goals for national standards and the Program Review of the Kentucky Department of Education education goals.
Sadly, not every child is able to afford the modest ticket price ($5.50 average per child) to these premiere educational programs. Thus, the Arts Teach Kids Scholarship Fund fills teachers’ requests for financial assistance for their students, as long as money is available in the Fund. The Fund provides free and/or reduced-price tickets to students in Owensboro and Daviess County Schools.
Teachers tell us how the Arts bring subject matter alive for all children, and how the arts connect with underachievers, troubled kids, and special needs children. Recently, an elementary school principal told us her schools’ scores – among the best in the state – were directly attributable to RPC education programs. How’s that for success?
